Secure Data Destruction for Enterprise Environments
Every device that ever held information is a liability until it is destroyed and documented. We handle the destruction, the custody and the paperwork.
Deleting is not destroying
A formatted drive still holds recoverable data. A decommissioned array pulled from a rack still holds recoverable data. So does the backup tape in the closet, the phone in a drawer and the copier nobody thinks of as a computer.
DataShredder's destruction operation is NAID AAA Certified, and after a strict security audit Harvard University chose us to shred their hard drives and media. Whether you generate a handful of drives a year or thousands during a decommissioning, the process and the documentation are the same.
How the process works
- 01CollectionDevices are collected at your site, or removed by us as part of a larger decommissioning project.
- 02Chain of custodyCustody is recorded from pickup through destruction — our vehicles, our personnel.
- 03Destruction or sanitizationMedia is physically destroyed, or sanitized where that is the agreed method for the device type.
- 04Serialized reportingApplicable devices are recorded by make, model and serial number.
- 05CertificatesCertificates of destruction are issued, along with recycling documentation for the resulting material.
